Women in Construction Week, which takes place every year in March, is an event that commemorates and appreciates the contributions of women to the construction field.

The Importance of Women in Construction

The construction industry has traditionally been male-dominated, with women making up only 10% of the workforce. As the industry continues to grow and evolve, the need for a diverse and inclusive workforce becomes increasingly important. Women bring unique perspectives, skills, and talents to the table, making them valuable assets to any construction team. Women in Construction Week aims to raise awareness of the contributions of women in the industry and encourage more women to pursue careers in construction. As the week comes to a close, let’s take a look back at what a few women of Dave Jones have to say.

A few Dave Jones women spoke out on their thoughts and careers in the construction field.

Kathryn’s Impact:

Today we are featuring Kathryn Jerdee, project director with Dave Jones. Kathryn started working at Dave Jones in 2020. From the time she started, she has proven to be a huge asset to the company. Her role has continued to evolve over the years and she is currently a Project Director for the Residential Segment. She works very closely with the Project Managers, Construction Coordinators, and the residential field team to ensure processes are running smoothly, provide support where needed, and develop new solutions where improvements can be made. If she doesn’t know about a certain topic, she dives in to learn everything she can. Her nominator adds that Kathryn is a true Ideal Team Player and they can’t say enough great things about her.

As we commemorate Women in Construction Week, let’s continue to uplift and empower women in the industry. Together, we can build a more inclusive and thriving construction sector that embraces diversity and celebrates the talents of all individuals.

Thank you to Emily, Mercedez, Kathryn, Heather, and all the incredible women who continue to bring their dedication and passion to Dave Jones.
